European Wine Resource is an Importation, Wholesale and Retail company, located in the San Francisco Bay Area specializing in fine and rare collectible wines. Collectors who have been maintaining rare wine portfolios since 1978 founded EWR in August of 2006. This accumulation has grown into one of the largest collections of rare European wine in North America.
We have invested an enormous effort to ensure the quality of our wines. While a considerable portion of our inventory is purchased en primeur, we also buy and sell private collections and work with many international and domestic sources to build our portfolio. Our purchases abroad are consolidated in London and Beaune France and transported to the USA in temperature-controlled containers by sea freight. Each parcel is carefully inspected upon arrival and maintained in our state-of-the-art storage facility between 55°F and 58°F. Our entire storage facility is fully insulated and temperature controlled using industrial refrigeration.
